Tips | Hazards

• Sunburn and heatstroke are very real problems when you're out on the waves in the heat of the tropical sun. Sunblock is essential, and most surfers wear a rash-vest as well.
• Insects, especially the stinging variety, can be bothersome, annoying, and sometimes downright dangerous. Avoid open-air eating areas. Avoid highly perfumed products. Many soaps, shampoos, and lotions contain strong fragrances that attract insects.
• Higher altitudes tend to have lower insect populations, and hence less risk of insect bites. The best bet is to follow some simple precautions to avoid stinging, buzzing bugs, and thereby have a more pleasant holiday:
• Avoid swimming in small ponds or pools of water. Stagnant water is the favorite breeding ground of mosquitoes. Also, mosquitoes come out to feed at dusk, so try and remain indoors during this time. While camping, remember to take along mosquito netting as an added precaution.
• Don't lie on the bare grass or sand. Always use a towel, mat, or blanket between you and the ground. Don't lay your clothes directly on the ground, since the perspiration or other scents on them may attract insects. Hang your clothes up, and always remember to shake them out before wearing them again. Always remember to shake out your shoes and socks before putting them back on.
• Use tweezers to remove any kind of sting from the surface of the skin. Apply them as close as possible to the point of entry and pull slowly and steadily until the sting comes out. Exception: never remove a bee's stinger by squeezing it. Instead, use a credit card, fingernail, or other semi-rigid flat object to scrape it off your skin, being careful not to squeeze the attached sac.
• To minimize chemical exposure, dress in shoes, socks, pants, and long-sleeved shirts, so you can spray your clothing instead of large areas of skin. Apply repellent sparingly to the remaining exposed skin.
• Remember to reapply the repellent every few hours, as the effectiveness wears off over time. Always reapply repellent after swimming, heavy perspiration, or exposure to rain, as water may reduce its effectiveness.

Tips | Enjoying Your Day

• Be kind to your body and eat a good breakfast before you go. You'll need the energy, but be sure to leave time for the meal to settle before you get to the venues. Take a restroom break whenever you are close to a restroom.
• Don't leave your valuables unattended on the beach and are amazed to find them gone when you return. Carefully with your belongings at all times. You won't know, crime may happen anywhere and surely can ruin your trips. Leave your expensive items in your hotel safe. An affluent appearance makes you a more attractive target for thieves.
• Don't looking like a tourist by dressing conservatively and being inconspicuous with your camera and map.
• Arrive early, you'll get a good parking place. Many venues charge for parking, so make sure to include this in your budget. Most venues have enough parking, so your biggest problem probably won't be finding a space, but finding your way back to it at the end of the day.
• Don't follow the crowd, look for the road less traveled. You should look through the venue's map and see if you can decide on a place to rest. Make a plan that will leave you in that area when it is time to eat.
• You should also locate the venue's restrooms while you have the map out so that you'll be able to take advantage of them when one is in the area.
• Agree on a meeting place if you get separated. While you're still all together and you have the map out, find a central meeting place for everyone in case you get separated.
• You'll be tempted with lots of tasty treats all day. Remember that your body is already stressed by all the activity so try to fit some healthy food into your day. Rich foods are more difficult for your body to digest.
• When buying souvenirs, remember you might have to carry them until the end of the day. Many venue's will close their rides, but still leave their shops open for a while. This will also allow the parking lot some time to thin out.

Tips | On Activity

• Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Plenty of water will help your body to make it through the day.
• Swim between the lifesavers' flags. Don't swim outside designated swimming areas on the beach, Bali's currents can be very strong rips.
• Don't swim in the sea at night or when the beach is unpatrolled. Jet-ski accidents are common because of the speed these craft travel at. Be careful.
• Don't parasail with cheap, unlicensed amateurs. Only use major companies that are insured.
• Pay attention to ride height and health restrictions; they are there for a reason. If you try to sneak in when you were advised not to ride and ignore the posted warnings, you may end up suffering for the rest of your trip.
• It's also advisable to bone up on your first-aid knowledge, especially mouth-to-mouth resuscitation techniques, which can be life-saving if someone's been knocked out on a remote break.
• You should consider mixing some indoor shows, or theater rides with outdoors or action rides. This will give you some much needed little breaks to sit down and cool off throughout the day.
• You'll want to have a plan to get to see as much as possible. Use the venue's map and tip board to help you plan your day. You want to avoid killing yourself by walking back and forth across the venues. Be sure to note the location of lost and found, restaurants, water fountains and restrooms on the venue's map.
• Check out the tip board for character appearances, time and other helpful information such as wait times, hours open, height, age and health restrictions.
• Since many of the parks have water rides that are designed to get you wet and cool you off; you might want to also consider the see through factor of your clothing if it gets wet
• Wear a hat, sunglasses, comfortable and supportive shoes
• Cover your body with a strong sunscreen
• Use some baby powder with cornstarch to help keep your feet and other body parts dry.
• Avoid wearing jewelry or other loose items that could get caught or become uncomfortable on the rides
• If you come without equipment, you'll find plenty of water sport shops, selling boards, spare fins and leashes and brand-name sportwear

Tips | Things To Bring

Diposting oleh putri | 6:24 AM

• Check your travel insurance does it cover your activities.
• Wherever you go, even you want to spend your time on the beach, don't forget to bring sunblock. The Bali sun is very strong and you'll be exposed to it for much of the day. A burn will ruin your whole trip.
• Don't forget the tops of your ears and wear protective, loose, comfortable clothing. It is recommended to bring swimsuits and towel, in case you want to swim.
• Always cover your head with a scarf or hat, and if wearing shorts, the backs of your knees. They can also help keep you cool and save you from burning. But, you'll have to hold on to them the whole day, so don't bring the ones you'll be upset about losing.
• Consider bringing raingear or sunglasses. Always check weather reports to see if you'll need it for a few minutes or hours.
• Forget high fashion, you want to be able to enjoy all your days at the venues. Wear cool and comfortable clothing. Since many of the venues have water rides that are designed to get you wet and cool you off; you might want to also consider the see through factor of your clothing if it gets wet.
• Wear clothing to protect against poison of plants, ivy or sumac. This generally means wearing long socks, keeping your feet covered and, if at all possible, wearing long pants. Light-colored clothing and broad-brimmed hats can help protect against ticks, as can tucking your pants into your socks. Around dusk, be sure you're wearing clothing that will protect you from mosquitoes.
• Bring extra clothing. It may get too warm and you may wish to strip down, or it may become unexpectedly chilly or wet.
• Wear cool, comfortable and supportive shoes. You are going to spend a lot of time on your feet. Bring an extra pair of shoes and socks to leave in your car, in case one pair gets wet.
• Carry a small first aid kit with you in case of an emergency.
• Be sure to take plenty of water along, especially if traveling to remote areas.
• Make sure to carry calorie-dense food such as energy bars, chocolate, hard-boiled eggs, sweets, and nuts. These are generally lightweight and provide the necessary energy to keep you going.
• You might bring a collapsible plastic water cup to assist you at the drinking fountains and a fanny pack to do the work of carrying all the items you'll need.

Tips | Planning Your Activities

Diposting oleh putri | 6:23 AM

• Make a plan before you go. Get a list of the activities and everyone in the planning. If the venues are so large; you may not be able to see everything even if you have more than one day at the venues. Some of the activities are so awesome; you may want to try to enjoy them more than once.
• Go off-season when the venues are less crowded, but check the venues' hours to make sure they haven't cut too much time out of your day. Many venues have longer hours during certain days. Check to see if you can make it on one of those days.
• Go on days when the venue is open extra hours. Check the daily attendance records and go on the lighter days. Surprisingly, the weekend may be less crowded since many are using the weekend as traveling days for their week long vacations. Get there early
• Use the map when you plan to avoid crisscrossing. Get a list of the rides or a map of the venue. You may not be able to see everything even if you have more than one day at the venue.
• Check the venues opening times, they do change. Some will open earlier or close later on certain days thus giving you more bang for the buck
• It is better for you to rent a car for your family when you want to go somewhere because they will deliver you everywhere in Bali. In Bali not all places can be passed by public transport. Ask a tour operator.
• Make sure you know your route, and bring along detailed maps of the area. Let someone know how long you plan to be away.
• Always bring some cash if you go around, in case you need to buy something, because not all places in Bali accept credit card. It is possible to draw money from the many ATMs.
• Before you make reservations, you might want to call ahead to find out about any special events that are taking place around the time of your vacation. The venues publish schedules with this information and these can be found by directly contacting the venues and are also available at tourist information centers and your hotels.
• Get your tickets from the authorized agents ahead of time to avoid the line at the gate.
• Remember that some of the activities have height restrictions. Many activities also have health warnings for items such as pregnancy or heart trouble. It is better to plan in advance than to build up a activity as a must see only to find a restriction that will keep some from going on the activity.
